About the Job: The Senior Manager, Global Logistics is a strategic, operationally driven leader responsible for the end-to-end tracking, execution, and continuous optimization of domestic and international shipments of patient specimens and critical materials in support of FMI’s diagnostic testing network. This role owns logistics performance (speed, quality, cost, compliance), leads carrier/3PL strategy, and partners cross-functionally with Laboratory Operations, Client Services, Quality, Regulatory, Procurement, and Finance to ensure specimens and materials move reliably, compliantly, and with the integrity required for patient-impacting testing. The Senior Manager will strengthen and scale FMI’s logistics capability through standardization, SOP governance, data/analytics, and risk management, ensuring readiness for audits and resilience to disruption while enabling growth and service excellence
Key Responsibilities: Define and execute FMI’s global logistics strategy for patient samples and materials, aligning service levels, cost-to-serve, and scalability with business objectives. Lead lane strategy across domestic and international networks (air/ground/courier), including escalation pathways, cutoffs, handoffs, and exception management to protect turnaround time and specimen integrity. Drive network optimization initiatives (e.g., carrier rationalization, consolidation, route/lane redesign, packaging standardization) to improve on-time performance and reduce delays/costs
Own day-to-day performance management of logistics execution, including real-time tracking/visibility, exception handling, and recovery actions for delayed or at-risk shipments. Establish and operate a performance cadence (daily/weekly/monthly) using KPIs such as on-time delivery, transit time, cost per shipment, exception rate, claims, and delivery success.
