Job Description Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented 2nd Shift HV Capacitor Voltage Transformer Tester to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine testing of capacitor voltage transformers (CVTs) to ensure compliance with customer specifications, internal quality standards, and testing requirements. This role requires attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient testing environment
Job Description Essential Responsibilities Electrical Testing & Product Verification Conduct high-voltage electrical testing of capacitor voltage transformers and instrument transformers, including electrical performance, high-voltage, visual, and dimensional inspections. Operate and monitor high-voltage test equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety protocols. Verify product performance against engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards (e.g., IEEE, ANSI, IEC)
Test functional performance including voltage transformation ratios, phase angle measurement, insulation resistance, capacitance/power factor, partial discharge detection, and ratio/polarity verification. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, nameplates, and technical specifications. Documentation & Reporting Accurately document test data, prepare test reports, and ensure full traceability of test records
Compare results against specifications, record test data, and print test results. Document all work performed by completing the appropriate forms. Troubleshooting & Quality Identify, analyze, and escalate test failures or deviations; collaborate with engineering and quality teams to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
Perform electrical troubleshooting and minor repairs, including replacement of defective components and mechanical repairs; frequently support production during repair procedures. Analyze test results on defective units and r
