This is your opportunity to gain real-world experience on some of the largest mining equipment in the world while working alongside experienced Reliability Engineers. You’ll be based out of Edmonton or Calgary, with on-site work in the Wood Buffalo region at CNUL Albian Mine and CNRL Horizon

This role follows a 7-days-on, 7-days-off rotation, with flights and camp accommodations fully provided—giving you valuable site exposure while maintaining balance. Job Description: What You’ll Experience In this role, you won’t just observe—you’ll contribute to real engineering work that impacts equipment performance and reliability. You will: Work directly with Reliability Engineers on active mining operations Build hands-on experience with Caterpillar heavy equipment Apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering challenges Develop your skills in data analysis, diagnostics, and performance optimization Gain exposure to industry-leading tools, systems, and technical training What You’ll Be Doing ⚙️Planning and Assembly of 7495 Mining Shovel (90%) Assemble drawing/job packages for trades (Mechanics, Welders and Electricians) Perform site safety inspections Monitor project consumables and aid in ordering Create daily progress reports Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control checks and documentation Update drawing and picture libraries Assist in production study of assembled machine Assist in commissioning of assembled machine Compile documents for turn over to client 🤝 Customer & Team Collaboration (5%) Support continuous improvement (CI) projects with technical data Collaborate with engineers, technical team
