<h1><span class="emphasis-3"><b><b>Job Description Summary</b></b></span></h1><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h1><span class="emphasis-3"><b>Job Description</b></span></h1><div><div><p><b>Essential Responsibilities:</b><br />You will work closely with an experienced carpenter to:</p><ul><li>Assist in planning and laying out carpentry work from drawings, instructions, and blueprints</li><li>Assist in measuring, cutting, and shaping wood, plastic, and other materials using a variety of hand tools</li><li>Support construction, repair, and installation of building fixtures and structures (e.g., framing walls, hanging doors, installing windows, hanging sheetrock, installing countertops and cabinets, basic tiling)</li><li>Help maintain work areas using 5S principles (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain) to ensure safe, organized, and efficient job sites</li><li>Assist with setup, use, and basic care of tools and equipment, including checking cords, guards, and safety devices before use</li><li>Follow all safety standards and procedures, including PPE use and fall protection, and promptly report unsafe conditions</li><li>Work in a team environment with carpenters, maintenance technicians, and other trades to complete assigned tasks on time</li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned to support the maintenance and facilities team</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications/Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>Currently enrolled in a Vocational Technical High School (at end of junior year)</li><li>Currently enrolled in a carpentry or construction trades program</li><li>Demonstrated hands-on carpentry experience or coursework (e.g., framing, basic finishing, reading a tape measure, safe use of basic power tools)</li><li>Ability to read tape measures and use basic shop math for measurement and layout</li><li>Ability to lift, move, and manipulate materials and fixtures up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations</li><li>Ability to work in a sh
