Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.</p></div><p><strong>ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY ENGINEER</strong></p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and/or guidelines established by OSHA, NFPA and NIOSH and other applicable regulatory agencies</li> <li>Collaborate with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement health and safety policies and procedures</li> <li>Monitor employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards</li> <li>Understand and implement machine guarding where needed</li> <li>Develop recommendations for remedial actions when safety policies are not met by employees</li> <li>Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations</li> <li>Complete and maintain documented safety observations from regular hazard identification audits</li> <li>Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine root causes, corrective actions and preventive measures</li> <li>Develop, implement and maintain safety contingency plans (fires, spills, etc.)</li> <li>Develop and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations established by the EPA, CERCLA, RCRA, DOT, TRRC, RWQCB, NEPA and other applicable regulatory agencies</li> <li>Ensure that resources are allocated appropriately to safety-related items</li> <li>Ensure technicians are completing required safety inspections via daily communication and oversight</li> <li>Ensure hazards are being appropriately addressed and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) assessments are created.</l
