The Controller department is seeking an analytical and highly motivated individual to perform the full range of advanced tax accounting activities in support of assuring timely and accurate tax accounting and compliance

As a Lead Tax Accountant, you will take on new and complex tax analyses to develop unique insights into our business and assist with the implementation of new tax accounting standards, regulation changes, and planning strategies. Additionally, you will have oversight and perform complex accounting activities for all direct and indirect tax functions at GEICO. This candidate will work closely with external tax partners to provide research and solutions for complex tax issues

The Lead Tax Accountant will work out of Plaza and report directly to the Corporate Tax Manager. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or another related field At least four years of experience in public accounting or an applicable corporate accounting environment Assist with continuous improvement, automation, and internal control initiatives in support of corporate strategies; for example, you will be expected to drive automation of certain tax accounting tasks Experience designing and maintaining proper internal control structure Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, VBA) Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal Must be able to work bot
