Position Summary The associate director, Market Access & Healthcare Policy (MAHP) in Japan is responsible for monitoring healthcare system and regulatory environment affecting Alexion's business and advancing Alexion's business priority in the policy area through building, maintaining, and leveraging relationships with external stakeholders and resources. The associate director reports to a director of MAHP. The associate director works in close collaboration with the other members in MAHP and other departments in Japan as well as global teams

Principal Responsibilities • Analyze and assess the implications of healthcare policy/regulations affecting Alexion’s business and inform them of relevant functions and/or senior managements in a timely.• Identify policy issues affecting Alexion’s business and develop and implement strategic action plans to overcome them.• Develop and maintain relationships with external policy stakeholders, such as KOLs, patient advocates, academia, policy specialists, and policy makers. • Expand Alexion’s presence in the rare disease space through participation and contribution to industry community activities.• Provide opportunities for employees to receive education on the healthcare system and regulations• Respond and give advice to inquiries from inside and outside the company regarding healthcare systems and regulations• Collaborate successfully with key contacts throughout Alexion, including marketing, medical affairs, communications, patient advocacy, R&D, global counterparts, etc. Qualifications • Passionate and responsible for a given task• Have leadership experience as a team or project leader.• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders• Excellent problem-solving skills and strategic thinking skills• Flexibility and adaptability to internal and external change • Fluency in Japanese required; proficiency in English (preferred)• Scientific and policy knowledge of rare disease space.
